What does a $20 million refurbishment buy

I took interest to story on news.com.au this week that Broome is seeing a little luxury being swept back in with a $20 Million refurbishment to the Cable Beach Resort. I read this story with interest as I was only having lunch with a friend who was privileged to have stayed at this resort with his family the week before. His comments were “It was an impressive place – just overpriced for what we got!! For the price I’d expect some service, not beds shoved together without a valance and obviously old sheets” so I was a little confused when I was reading about the makeover this resort has received. I’ve checked the Cable Beach Resort website out and it looks impressive to me.

“New owners, Hawaiian Guests, have refurbished the resort with a $20 million makeover, sculpting luxurious rooms, decorated with Australian art and Asian accessories.”

So maybe one of our little nomads can share with us what is going on with this resort, as it was once one of the great jewels of Western Australia and Broome.

Feel free to comment below if you can fill us in, or even better share some photos. I’d be happy to post them to share with our network of parents who are researching holidays in Western Australia.
