Plenty of places to visit, heaps of things to do but not feeling inspired! Try this then.
Sometimes it takes a little inspiration to get you moving to consider new places to explore for a family holiday. I like to find inspiration through video and have picked out some of my favourite videos from Vimeo. Hope you enjoy and find some inspiration to get out a explore with your family.
1. Oregon – Perfect for family camping trips
Have to say when we visited and passed though Oregon on family road trip some years back now, it was amazing. We could not get over what wild and expansive destination it is. There is so much to do and explore in the North West corner of the USA as you will find in this creative little video where they have captured shots from the Columbia River Gorge, Mt Hood, Mt Jefferson, the Southwestern Coast, the Alvord Desert, Leslie Gulch, Blue Mountains, Crater Lake, Eagle Cap Wilderness, Deschutes River, and much more enjoy.

2. Around the world in seconds
Well if 3 guys took 44 days visited 11 countries took 18 flights and travelled 38 thousand miles. What would they get? Some great footage on how to travel the world. If your ever looking for inspiration how to take photo’s of the the kids on holidays, why not try this approach on your next family holiday. Grab the camera and shot the kids walking towards you in front of the sights then stitch it togther with some clever video editing software. Result – should be something like this video!

3. Escape through the Airport
One of the joys and pains of travelling with your kids on holidays is the Airport. I personally see it has a gate to a destination, but to our kids its full of excitement overhead announcements, bags being carried away, people booking tickets, important people, people thinking they are important, bad coffee, nice lounges (if you have a pass), long walks to the gates, and heaps and heaps of aircraft to admire with your kids. You can’t help be excited when you travel with your children through an airport.

4. Paris – Perfect for all Travellers
I recently visited Paris for the first time only 10 months ago, this city is amazing it true. Okay we were travelling “sans enfants” but I could not stop thinking what a wonderful city to explore with children. My kids would have loved playing with the French children with their small boats in the ponds around the many parks , or admiring the views from the roof tops, just trying their luck at picking a padlock from Pont de l’Archevêché. Next time we will take the children.

5. Scotland – dip the kids toes in the bubbling brook
I haven’t been back to Scotland since my backpacking days. However, I’m sure I’ll be back soon with the kids to explore the historic castles, rugged landscapes and magnificent coastline that frame Scotland. Would also like to head back to visit some of those distilleries, that create the wonderful single malt whiskies of Scotland.

6. China- Find your family dragon
China is big and is sure to open all the family senses to sight, sound and smells. There is so much do and see in China from walks along the Great Wall of China, discovering the Forbidden City, watching the world pass by in Tiananmen Square and the Summer Palace, flying kites with children from the villages or in many of the wonderful parks, or enjoying a Kung Fu show with the kids.
