Who-dun-it murder-mysteries by the ‘Queen of Crime’ Agatha Christie will air in Caloundra, along with dancers from the San Francisco Ballet, Australian actor Tom Burlinson, Parisian cabaret star Caroline Nin and guitar maestros Band of Brothers as part of the Noosa Longweekend Festival program from June 18-27.
The Longweekend Festival at Caloundra will replicate about 10 per cent of the total Noosa program at The Events Centre in Caloundra. This includes the Agatha Christie radio plays performed by Lux Radio Theatre actors who will play many roles, perform soap commercials and provide all the sound effects for gripping and entertaining murder-mysteries, as it was on the wireless.
The Events Centre Caloundra is also hosting Frank Sinatra – A Life in Song featuring Tom Burlinson along with one of two exclusive performances from the International Stars of Ballet including seven principal members of the San Francisco Ballet. They will perform a mixture of traditional classical favourites including Pas de Deux from Swan Lake and stirring original contemporary dance pieces. Caroline Nin and Band of Brothers complete the festival’s Caloundra program.
