Noosa lifts its look for families

An extreme makeover has brought the beach vibe back to Hastings Street, Noosa, writes Kay O’Sullivan.

Ten million bucks is a lot to spend on tarting up a street, especially one that an Olympian could run in less than 20 seconds. But that is Hastings Street, Noosa for you. You could not overcapitalise here. We are talking big money. The kind of money that buys prime placement in the CBD.

Come to think of it, up until recently you could be forgiven for thinking that is where you were. All the big brands are here, from Boost to Boss and a whole lot more in between. Like cafes, more cafes and restaurants. (There are 25restaurants on Hastings Street alone.) Then there are the retailers, and the dead giveaway that a place has tipped into prosperity, the beauty salons. They abound.
